True Stories

Brooke
My brother got into drugs when I was a sophomore in high school. He and I are only 10 months apart and he was my best friend. We slowly started to drift apart because I didn’t want to do drugs.. I had tried them with him and decided I didn’t want to fall into that crowd. By the summer before my senior, my brother was into all kinds of drugs including weed, cocaine, and crack. He was also an alcoholic. This tore my family to shreds. He was in all kinds of trouble with the law, and I would no longer answer my phone to talk to him. He checked himself into rehab a month ago. My brother has been sober for 40 days now. It's amazing! I am so proud of his courage. He is the brother I knew before again. He is my best friend again. Everyone can get better.... but the person must WANT to get better. Never stop believing in them. And never stop loving them.

Letting someone go from doing drugs or drunk driving is hard; It’s even harder knowing that you didn’t do anything about it.
